I don't own G2 Road Pig, so here's a comparison with Robotmasters Double Face instead.
PROS:
+ The colours evoke G2 Road Pig quite well. The gunmetal silver faceplate and red upper legs are improvements over the original toy's black mask and upper legs. This toy clearly has more of a paint budget than G2.
+ The new head and Crashbar's headlight chest both look quite G2-accurate.
+ As with Crashbar, the modular play gimmick is incidental; he's not a partsformer like previous modular TFs (e.g. Weaponisers).
+ Deliberately tacky G2 Decepticon logo and "TRANSFORMERS" tampographs on either side of the fuel tank.
+ Transparent red exhaust pipe weapons make him look like his Laser Cycle gimmick is activated; this and the painted red eyes are improvements over the G2 toy's clear eyes and exhaust pipe.
CON:
+ Asymmetrical look of Crashbar's Junkion robot and motorcycle modes detract from G2-accuracy.
+ Deliberately tacky G2 Decepticon logo and "TRANSFORMERS" tampographs on either side of the fuel tank.
OVERALL:
This toy is as well done as Legacy Road Rocket, so if you enjoyed that toy then you'll have fun with Road Pig too.![]()
