Selected additional comments about Transformers in 2024:

    The good...

"Another great year from Hasbro. I love that they are giving us lots of choice with sometimes obscure figures from a range of universes."

"We finally have a Marvel Legends Death’s Head and TFUK Emirate Xaaron"

"Another year full of wins for both the main line and Studio series. Magmagtron and 86 Prime further prove that Commander class has become the price point where TakaraTomy were able to produce their best design work."

"SS86 Optimus is now my favourite Transformers toy ever. RIP MP13 Soundwave."

"The 40 years celebration cinema experiences were a lot of fun, I got to share G1 on the big screen with my kids"

"The missing link starting up was a definite highlight for me though, such a good, but simple idea."

    the bad...

"I wish Hasbro cared more about the yellowing issue"

"It is absurd that we had to wait 5 years for Buzzsaw, only to get him as a $100 toy with a bunch of … This was merely the worst example of how Hasbro's multi-pack habit is entirely anti-consumer."

"Not enough toys on shelves. Figures impossible to get without paying scalper prices. In some cases scalpers can't even get them. Swoop, snarl, bombshell are all impossible to get to complete subsets."

"The lack of distribution and availability of items is disheartening… Sometimes I would like to walk into a store and pick something up for some instant joy!"

    "Transformers getting too expensive"

    and beyond...

"2024 was both good and bad for transformers fans, but boy am I excited for 2025! 86 Devastator?? Superion???? Let’s goooooo"

"I hope we get even more Soundwaves"

"Needed more core class 86 tapes"

"Transformers One was a spectacular movie and I'd do anything for a sequel."

De gustibus non est disputandum and all, but Earthspark Prowl being the favourite deluxe from that line just seems off. It was an incredibly lazy repaint of Cyberverse Hot Rod (a toy which wasn't terribly highly regarded in its original form) and one that doesn't even remotely resemble the character in question. Plus it was only spottily available rather late in the year.

But hey, what do I know? That's my opinion of Buzzsaw up there, and I know plenty of people who have no issue with how Hasbro finally supplied him to us (and the other multi-packs, which I detest passionately).

What a sad bunch of GeeWunners we are with those picks for best figures.

I'd love to know what happened at the end of 2024 with the distribution issues. I saw on TFW2005 the other day that the US is only getting the final wave of Legacy now. So that means it's not an Australia only thing that there was a large gap without new figures on shelves.
I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.

But we knew right from the first hints of wave 5 that it would arrive, anywhere, in January 2025 and not before. So it seems to actually be turning up on schedule.

Thanks so much again for putting this together this year (and every year).
