On a recent trip to Singapore, I went to Daiso and came across these nail art brushes in the cosmetic tools section. They were the finest brushes I've ever seen and I bought the long ("Line") and short ("Art") types that were there for about AUD2.50 each.

I've been trying them out with enamels, fixing pinpoint paint chips, narrow scratches and larger paint defects on my TFs. I have to say that these are incredibly useful brushes for microscopic painting (paired with a magnifier). They are also cheaper than traditional model brushes (especially very fine ones). The finest brush I've owned is the Eye Finisher by Modelkasten, which I bought from HLJ Japan for about AUD12 on sale (plus shipping - I had it shipped with other items). The Eye Finisher is a hobby brush for tiny details like eyes.

I don't know if they are stocked at Aussie Daisos or how much. If you are hobby painter, I recommend stopping into a Daiso to check. I also checked a local Target to see if they have nail brushes and they did, but they weren't as fine as the Daiso ones (still quite fine). Other places would sell nail art brushes too.

Both Daiso brushes have the same fine point but one is longer for long lines. I use the short one for everything though - dots, lines. The tension of the bristles and the tip is perfect - holds the paint and delivers it well (of course, you need to know how to thin your paints). If you put too much paint on the model, you can use the tip with a bare amount of thinner on it to wick/flick away excess paint - the tip is so tiny that it gives you good control over paint removal.
