    Default 2008 Transformers Collection Poll Results

    So here's how many Transformers we owned in 2008...

    32% of respondents have 100 Transformers or less.
    20% of respondents have about 200 Transformers.
    4% of respondents have about 300 Transformers.
    10% of respondents have about 400 Transformers.
    3% of respondents have about 500 Transformers.
    2% of respondents have about 600 Transformers.
    1% of respondents have about 700 Transformers.
    1% of respondents have about 800 Transformers.
    1% of respondents have about 900 Transformers.
    26% of respondents have 1000 Transformers or more.

    Comparison with 2007

    100 or less --> Down by 2%
    200 --> Up by 4%
    300 --> Down by 7%
    400 --> unchanged
    500 --> Down by 4%
    600 --> unchanged
    700 --> Up by 1%
    800 --> Down by 2%
    900 --> Down by 1%
    1000 or more --> Up by 12%

    As we can see the category with the greatest change is the "1000 or more" category which saw the biggest increase between 2007 to 2008 with a 12% hike. This category has now overtaken the "200" category as the second largest majority next to "100 or less." The "100 or less" category remains the largest although now with only a 6% difference between "1000 or more."

    It's interesting to see that most Transformers collectors' collections (58% of us) tend to number at one of the two extremes - most of us either have 100 or less or 1000 or more! Compare this with 2007 where 50% of us had collections number at about 200 or less.

    Interesting statistics, and thanks for putting in the effort to show us this data. However, I believe the colours of both years graphs need to resemble each other more closely.

    The large percentage of collection counts on both extremes that you have pointed out might represent veteran collectors with larger collection counts versus newer collectors with smaller collections, hence an influx in the amount of newer members to these forums. I could be wrong though, although I'm definitely a statistic in regards to this theory.

    Hmmm Im only in one percent slice of the pie..... and even if I do reach the next level ( which is about soon early this year) Im still might be in just 1% as that person in the next level might/ or might not go on to the higher level him/her self. Ah well. Thanks for showing the results Gok, erm I would agree with Eruntalon on his point though, mayhaps assign a permanent color scheme for each level so as for consistency ( which can be adapted for the 2009 poll). I prefer the color scheme adapted on the 2007 poll ( except the white) as the more recent one is just to glaringly bright... (my eyes, my eyes!!)

    This year's poll will probably have different categories so that we can have multiple fields over 1000... I suppose the question is should I go by multiples of 200, 300 or what?

    well for the above 1000 field these collectors in this parts of the pie vary as well in their collecting strategy. Mebbe have a poll between themselves ( you included hehehe) on how much increments can be placed, will it be by 100/ 200 or 300? as some might be slowing down in their collecting while some are just as rabid as ever in acquiring stuff for whatever their personal reasons are. My 2c in this is keep the increments above 1000 by the hundreds to comply with the rest of the increments already in the poll, for consistency. Yah cant have a pie looking like 100, 200, 300 and so on then on the 1000+ its 1200, 1400. its not consistent and would look inaccurate. otherwise have a separate pie for the 1000+ if the increments (as decided on) are not by 100s. With data representations I believe there should be consistency.
