Gah. I remember getting mine out right after schoolies a few years back now. It wasn't pleasant. The first time I had two taken out and it hurt for over two weeks. The second time I was up and about in two days. In hindsight, it was the experience of the person performing, the first time i had some newbie doing it and the 2nd time it was an older lady who had been doing it for a long time. Barely felt a thing but that 1st time was excrutiating.

To be honest I didn't really feel a lot of pain when I had my lower two third molars removed. It was just the discomfort in the first few mornings and then that was it.

I've had more painful experiences from bad food and head colds.

Teeth are a damn pain in the backside. They're expensive and we have far too many of them to begin with. Rawr!

Your growing your teeth in the wrong place if they're hurting your backside.

    Funny this thread is here.

About 3 years ago I had to get my left top wisdom tooth removed. It had died and had an infection. So a general anesthetic and a little pulling, it came straight out.

Then last year I was getting pain on my right side, dentist checked, teeth were fine enough, but found out then that I should have had braces as a kid because a bite test found that my teeth were out of alignment forwards-backwards and the back teeth had worn the enamel off each other. I then was suggested to use sensitive toothpaste, worked fine until...

.... last Sunday night, pain pain pain. Went to dentist monday, yep, we'll yank the top right wisdom.

Was put under general again, and the dentist went to work. Got to a point though that she wasn't sure if she should proceed due to it being bone attched to my jaw. Got the specialist in, and he went hard at it. Lots of cracking later and a short sharp jab of pain, it was out. Ended up missing a days work that day, but back yesterday. And also that night on monday, I had pizza for dinner.

Still sore, and still bleeding a little today, but I'll live. Also no stitches either of those times either. It'll be back 100% in a couple of weeks.

Yeah I've got dissolvable stiches in my mouth. The anesthetic has worn off today which is good. I can finally speak normally again.

Damn really? I was talking fine the entire time, even with a gauze pack in, and my anesthetic wore off by the time I drove myself home.

They really must dope you up well outside of QLD (mans land).

I had two (bottom pair) out when I was around 19 or 20... the top two have grown out and sit there minding their own business. One (left) is nice and neat while the other (right) points in a little, but causes me no problems aside from the weird angles I need to direct my toothbrush.

The removal was fairly easy, aside from one of the stitches which had gone through my _cheek_ - that made talking painful, but it dissolved after a day or two.

    Eagerly waiting for Masterpiece Meister
