They've been around a couple of months. When I went there it had the feel of a pop-up business - using all the shelves and registers that had been there as part of the old Franklins store - selling a limited (compared with established stores) amount of stock.

So it doesn't surprise me that they're wrapping up post Christmas.

Are there any hobby/collectible places in Chatswood (the shopping centre) that have transformers and other collectible toys, because I am heading there today.

Castle Hill - Uncle Pete has DOTM Cyberverse Commander for $5.99 dropped from regular price of $17.99. (Saw a lot of Optimus Prime, Megatron and one Powerglide). These are located at the front of the shop next to the entry/exist.

Next to this, there were star wars action figures on clearance as well.

Kmart - one full peg of FOC minions for $15.00 and couple of prime deluxe cliffjumper.

Target - only about three prime deluxe and one FOC Jazz left.

I think it was an over-spill store there was a similar store out at merrylands but it had older stock and no transformers.

Toy retailers are said to reap 40% of their yearly sales revenue during the holiday season, which may attract an entrepreneur to invest in a pop up store. I do really wonder if it was worth the initial start up costs.

When the store was fist sighted, I was expecting it to be small like Hobbyco, but was really surprised by its size, and with Macquarie Centre agreeing to lease that large space for a short term investment.

Not that I know of, no.
On a side note, is DOTM Thundercracker worth getting for a g1-esque TC for my collection. (already have generations)

If you can still find him in stores sure, but I wouldn't go out of my way to ebay him because I passed him up so many times back when DOTM was plentiful because I got Starscream instead (not fond of the cybertronian tatts but thundercrackers blue paint job was stunning, and why I almost wanted him).

Some people hate movie Starscream's design, I quite like him. Here's a entertianing review with most of the pros & cons of the fig: http://youtu.be/WPZP_hYRUso
