Then you wouldn't have known about the missing rub sign. Actually the absence of that sticker makes me suspect it's more likely to be a case of someone have switched the toy... it happens. I once sold a Japanese BW Scorponok in a European box. Of course, Takara and Hasbro BW Scorponok are identical - but it happens. I now have a European BW Scorponok but a Japanese Polar Claw vs Scorponok box (and inserts - not giving up that tech specs card)!

But both versions (Hasbro and Takara's) have the rub sign right?

I wouldnt worry. I went through a big Beast Wars phase and i bought 2x all the Metals and both of my MISB Depthcharge's have 'Depthcharge' on them. I asked the same question on a different board and the majority of people replied that Depthcharge was a late release and Takara either used the Hasbro mold or Hasbro leftovers. The rest of my metals all have Cybertron or Destron. Oh by the way if you don't have Metals Rampage i really really really recommend him. Absolute beauty. Him and Ravage. Gold i tell you...GOLD!

However that really wouldn't be a big deal for me since back in the Beast Wars era, Takara and Hasbro releases were pretty much on par quality wise and most of their toys had high manufacturing standards. The differences were more due to artistic choice in color than anything else but I think there was no difference when it comes to Depthcharge aside from the printed name.
Except Hasbro's TM Megatron. He was made from the Brown version of the Gold Plastic Syndrome plastic.

BTW, Golden Phoenix, thanks for reminding me about Depth Charge. God, that article needed serious work. I just did a preliminary rewrite of the fiction section.

Good point about Megatron. If anyone doesn't have TM Megatron yet I would recommend getting the Takara version over the Hasbro version... the Takara version is made of better quality plastic.

I got a Hasbro TM Megatron, then a few years ago the brown plastic broke so I replaced it with a Takara Metals Megatron. Looks nicer too.

That's what I have been thinking. But I looked round, and +au$50 seems to be the going rate for the Hasbro one on ebay, so either way I saved

Is it gold plastic type deterioration or something else?
