I actually want a reissue of ALL OF THEM on the poll! But because Fort Max is a more expensive holly grail, I think that would be first on the list then all those people who bought their $1000 ones will be crying...

    Hmm. I dunno, really.

Reissue Dinobots would at least put a temporary cork in the fandom whining. Jetfire would be very nice, but it's not really that hard to kitbash one from the appropriate Robotech mold. Deluxe Insecticons - again, nice to see, but pretty bland compared to current offerings.

Shockwave - a fan favorite, but the mold itself never did anything for me.

Fort Max is sort-of feasible. Get someone buddy-buddy enough with Hasbro to be allowed to commission and sell official G1 replicas as collectibles. The turnover would be fairly slow, and the prices still in the multi-hundred-dollar range, and there would have to be something in place to ensure they weren't sold to kids (credit card orders only?), but really all it needs is legal OK, original/replica molds, and a second-hand plastic injection molder. Slow but workable. Or even use one of those 3D ABS printers, if the selling price would cover the cost of materials.

In fact, with a 3D printing model, you could even make improvements such as fully articulated hands and better designs/articulation for Gasket and Grommet. And as each toy would effectively be a custom creation, buyers could specify whether they wanted an oldschool-faithful or new-and-improved version.

Heck, stick a customisation engine on the webpage and let people pick what colours they want their toy printed in. Fort Max, Brave Max, Grand Max, toy-accurate, comic-accurate, cartoon-accurate, fancharacter. Sticker sheets or sticker colours/patterns built right into the plastic. Choose all, some, or none of the accessories. Or if you have an original Fort Max missing a part, just order that one replica part.

And why only stay with Fort Max? Ask Hasbro if they have any other molds they'd be willing to make custom-collectible profit levels on. Let people build and print their own designs, optionally allowing other people to print their characters too (and splitting any resulting profit).

We know that Takara should still have the Fortress Maximus mould since it was used not that long ago for Brave Maximus. The main issue would be the price... it seems that Encore Omega Supreme and Metroplex were shelf-warmers and slow to move, so you can just imagine how much more difficult it would be to sell Fortress Maximus. Hasbro wouldn't market the toy specifically at adults; they'll claim that it's not feasible for their markets. Also Hasbro doesn't ever reissue anything that Takara doesn't reissue first - they don't seem interested in doing any R&D for G1/G2 reissues.

But this thread is for our pipe-dreams - and I think that if we ever did get an Encore Fortress Maximus (with Master Swordy goodness - Takara should still have the mould for that too since they used it for the God Fire Sword* in Car Robot) they should reissue Grand Maximus as an e-Hobby exclusive! Not sure if Takara would do that though... they gave us Gadep (Omega Sentinel) but I was disappointed to see that we didn't get Metrotitan from e-Hobby. I so would've gotten a reissue Metrotitan, even if it didn't come with Metrobomb - and I'd get a reissue Grand Max, even if it didn't come with the Pretender shells.

*I've heard that the quality of the God Fire Sword was pretty bad - it's possible that the mould for the Master Sword may need to be repaired or maybe they just need to use better quality plastic. The handle would need to be retooled back to its original size (it was elongated for the God Fire Sword).

This poll was a bit of a toughie, but I voted Shockwave. I never had the original figure as a kid and would love to have one.

Would love to see reissues of Fort Max and the Dinobots as well.

I think there's still a possibility of that. Gotta remember that Sunstorm didn't come out until many many months after Starscream.

Yeah sadly the options I chose for the poll are in the, as I said earlier, incredibly unlikely to impossible to reissue category. A man can dream though...

The Dinobots. Also, the Monsterbots, just for the hell of it. (really, it's Maximum Dinobots making me desire a Monsterbot reissue).

And some more Beast Wars toys, like the combiners.
