Default Astrotrain (85 Catalogue / Cartoon style)

Well might as well post more of my customs so here is Astrotrain, he has always been one of my favorite decepticons and was always disappointed with the color of his original figure.
Looking at the 1985 Catalogue picture he looked SO much better and the cartoon reissue was to expensive to by, so i thought i would make my own so here he is

Hey great work rampagesss. looks like a pretty smooth finish too.
I custom painted my spare G1 astrotrain a while ago for the same reason you did too.... Its also much more satisfying IMO than forking up heaps of dough for the ehobby variant.

btw, if you used a spare G1 blitzwing gun and sword then it would be 85 catalogue perfect....

He'd have to use blu tack though to hold it on his hand.
Wonderful paintjob! doesnt look customized at all! So did you have to take him apart? Spray paint?

Parts- AM partner Basher-side guns, G1 Actionmaster Elite Windmill's blades[I][B]

Yea he was totally disassembled then painted. Luckily I had a spare Astrotrain as I lost track of which part went where after a while. But to me it turned out great, it’s the way he should have been made in the first place

PRO! Ironically the only version of Astrotrain I don't have is the original toy - I have the Japanese reissue and I have the eHobby version, but I don't have the regular version! (I used to have one but it was stolen )

Good point! I always felt that he had a different shaped head too, but it could just be an optical illusion!

I have never noticed that Astrotrain is carrying Blitzwing's weapons. And I must have looked at the catalogue a hundred times. Just goes to show you can always learn some new in Transformers!
