I really wasn't expecting them to make a figure that looks this good!

Don't know if anyone noticed this before?
    Hasbro:

    Takara:

Takara's one seems to have chrome (or at least silver/grey) bits on the shoulders, as opposed to red on Hasbro's. Not making a huge amount of difference imo, but i was surprised to see a difference prior to any 'premium' range.

Its looks nice as is, but i'll wait for a version with metalics used instead of the grey. At least we know from experience there will likely be a couple of repaints.

You are right, there isn't much difference but Tak-Tom is known for using Hasbro toy pics as preliminary promos. I suspect that this is the same toy as Hasbro with a bit of flash effect and better lighting with just a tiny bit of silver paint.

I will wait for a better promo pic from Tak-Tom before I make up my mind.

Optimus Prime is a superb toy. It had me at hello back in early January.

What a joke... they made another candle wax megatron....and wtf is the deal with his two hugely disproportionate arms? Im sure theres a "rule 34" comment to be made somewhere....

Very nice improvement with Optimus though.
But will wait to see what the customisers can do with them both....
