As much as I love rub signs, I think they work better in conjunctions with normal insignias as well. I would have liked to see Jazz with a big bold Autobot symbol on his bonnet as well as the rub sign.

I agree. The whole thing was poorly executed and as far as gimmicks go it's pretty lame. They should have just stuck with the Generations line and expanded it into Voyager and Scout Class
i was just thinking about how many bumblebee toys there are and how much people dislike that fact, and then i thought how many optimus prime toys are there? he's probably even more popular.
does anyone know how many official toys have been made of the two?
Well here's my personal collection of Optimus Primes and Bumblebees:
...and my collection's far from complete (not that I'm a completist). But for a more complete picture, see these links:

And I think the reason why some people resent seeing so many Bumblebee toys and don't share the same resentment for Optimus Prime is because Optimus Prime is the "flagship" toy/character of the Transformers franchise. He's like Superman is to the Justice League. Bumblebee on the other hand was originally the Autobot's 5th wheel. Having him share the "limelight" with Optimus Prime would be like say having the Green Arrow or Aquaman try to share limelight with Superman and Wonder Woman -- a dude who shoots arrows and a guy who breathes underwater and telepathically talks to fish... compared to gods... as Optimus Prime once told Wheelie in 'The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime', "He can stay and guard the base!"
Erm Has anybody received their I gear Kup heads yet? They're available already at RK but I pre ordered from Igear website itself... havent recieved any thing in the mail though, just wondering....

I think the difference is that with Optimus Prime, the toys are spread out and usually a different canon. There are half a dozen or so version of the one canon in rencent times but when you compair this to Bumblebee, most of the recent toys are of the same one.
There are so many versions of Movie Bumblebee it is crazy. So many slight re-moulds, complete remoulds, redecos, more accurate decos, less accurate decoes.
Look at this page and then remember that the character is only 4 years old.

Has anyone spotted this before? It's basically the equivalent of the Transformers: Generations book, but for Transformers Kabaya Gum toys and other Transformers gum collectibles. It looks intriguing - does anyone have it?

I believe it was Simon Furman who initially suggested that the movie use an "underdog" like one of the Autobot mini cars as the main hero character instead of someone more predictable like Jazz or Optimus Prime. So Bumblebee makes sense in that regard since in G1 Bumblebee was puny, the physically weakest Autobot and somewhat lacks self confidence and eager to prove himself. Movie Bumblebee isn't necessarily the smallest or weakest of the Autobots, but he's still eager to prove his worth (like when he went over-board with wiping out the appliance-cons and destroyed a section of the Witwickies' house in the process).
But Optimus Prime as a main "hero" character of Transformers since the beginning has often had many toys made of him - even within the same canon (e.g. RiD). It's just kinda funny seeing Bumblebee get so much limelight though. It'd be like say they made a Justice League and they took the crappiest member of the Justice League and made him awesome... oh wait, that's precisely what they did in Smallville with the Green "Fifth Wheel" Arrow! (I wonder how many non-comic book fans had even heard of Green Arrow before he appeared on Smallville )
