Yeah, I'm thinking the green on the Takara version is more accurate but the yellow on Hasbro's is more accurate. Makes it hard to decide which preorder to cancel, might just shell out for both since I got a good price on the Takara one from HLJ.

But I got to agree with Takara Rhinox all the way.

Maybe order both but don't open the toys until after you've received both and you can compare them through the packaging and/or through other people's in hand photos. Then decide which one you'd like to keep and sell the other MOSC at the same price you paid to recoup your costs.

    Hey guys,

Whats the difference between the Hasbro MP's and the Takara Tomy MP's? Is there anything major in the way they transform, look, stand, what they come with etc?

I know with SW i just purchased from TRU it came with all the cassettes and yellow eyes not red. Is the Takara version the same thing with red eyes?

Depends on the toy as to whats been changed.

Off the top of my head here are the differences.

    MP-01 redeco with battle damage.
MP-03 cartoon based redeco with weathering, minor mold change for safety.
MP-06 uses Hasbro MP-03 mold with toy accurate redeco.
MP-07 uses MP-11 mold with some non canon based tampos.
MP-08 many minor deco changes plus he comes with a crown but missing other accessories.
MP-09 toy accurate redeco, missing trailer. (edit) comes with his Targetmaster companion.
    MP-10 minor deco changes.
    MP-11A we don't know yet.
MP-13 comes with MP-15 and MP-16 has yellow eyes for toy accuracy.

Takara tends to shoot for cartoon accuracy most often, Hasbro toy accuracy. But not always.

Hasbro's MP-01 also has shortened smoke stacks and a black rifle. Takara's is "clean" (no battle damage) and has a silver-grey rifle. There's also another variation of Hasbro's MP-01 which features "flat" colours and a voice box. Hasbro's version of MP-03 also has superior quality plastic. Takara's version was not good. Although TakaraTOMY later released the "USA Edition" which was similar to the Hasbro version, but 'cleaner' (i.e. doesn't have the 'scorch marks' that the Hasbro version has).

TakaraTOMY's MP Thundercracker is MP03 mould whereas Hasbro's is the MP11 mould. Hasbro's MP cassettes also have lighter colours (although it's very slight on Ravage who's almost identical to his TakTOM counterpart - but certainly more noticeable on the other cassettes). MP Soundwave also has grey foot doors instead of silver. Hasbro's MP Skywarp has toy-accurate yellow eyes too.

Hasbro's MP09 has some mould improvements over TakTOM's; the gun tabs are thickened to allow Rodimus to hold them better, and the rear spoiler lock is also a bit improved (but still prone to unclipping, just not as bad as TakTOM's ). The paint quality on the spoiler is also better on Hasbro's (less prone to paint scraping off than TakTOM's, which can happen when connecting/disconnecting Rodimus with his trailer, even if you go super slowly and carefully!).

Sometimes both Hasbro and TakTOM's MPs go for a combination of toy accuracy and cartoon likeness. e.g. TakTOM's MP10 may have more toy-accurate body colours, but still has cartoon-like blue eyes instead of yellow eyes. Hasbro's MP Soundwave has toy-accurate yellow eyes, but Frumble are still coloured and named according to the cartoon. Grimlock is quite cool because both his robot and Dinobot mode eyes can switch between red and blue, allowing you the option to choose between toy accurate or cartoon like eye colours. (the blue would probably look better on TakTOM's version (which comes w/ accessories based on the G1 toon) whereas the red looks better on the Hasbro version (which comes w/ the crown from the G1 comics)).

Does anyone know if TakTom / Hasbro will be releasing the 3rd Rainmaker Seeker as a MP to complete the set?

I wish they'd release an MP Bitstream! Although I personally wish they'd named him Blizzard Storm.

That would be pretty cool. Isn't there something about not cross-contaminating markets? Or can they be subtle in releases with fulfilling the wants of fans.

3rd? I haven't even heard of the second one getting released. Only Acid Storm has been done by Hasbro and there is a magazine scan saying there is a Takara version coming.
