In that case I propose the three Rainmakers are
Acid Storm, Hailstorm, and Firestorm
They are related to Sunstorm and Thunderstorm (who maybe changed his name to Thundercracker when he became an elite Seeker?) and of course their descendant Mangostorm
Old school G1 Kitbasher and trivia man Zobovor suggests Limelight, Blue Moon, and Goldwing, complete with G1 style tech specs.

Firestorm is taken by DC Comics... maybe they could go with Sparkstorm (remembering that G1.5 Spark is also known as Pyro, which I assume Hasbro wouldn't be able to use as a TF name due to the X-Men character of the same name... although it didn't stop them in 1993 *shrug*)
