Questions about the Madman's JP G1.

First, is the subtitle translation based off the horrible English dub or is actually accurate to the Japanese dialog?

Second, I've never watched a subtitled anime so I'm not sure if I can keep up being dyslexic. Is there some source of legal subtitled anime online I can try first before spending the cash on the Madman set?

I think the Takara Reissue Convoy comes in a box like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Takara-Hasbr...item1c3ca2de68

and the Takaratomy Encore Convoy comes in the reprint of the original G1 box (in japanese).

I'm pretty sure that the subtitles original (in some way) and based on translating Japanese to english. It's not based on the dub, since it actually makes sense.

I have a feeling they might have used some "US" names in some of the translation. Maybe that's just in the first set (Headmasters) where there's overlap between the characters Western Audiences know and the new guys.

You could probably find some subtitled anime on YouTube, I'm sure I saw some of the newest Pokemon anime on there subtitled a little while ago.
