from what ive hered its a large step back from the original
ive been told that its just - build units, build units, overwhelm with mass numbers, no strategy required

You are sooooooooo wrong mate, it is a smaller squad based version.
The original is build build build, this one you have a Sgt and 3 other squads with no more than 3 men.
