    Default Australian internet blacklist leaked

    http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2009/...054961100.html

This is the very blacklist the Australian government wants to use for their mandatory internet censorship plan.

What an embarassing day this is for ACMA, Communications Minister Stephen Conroy, and the government.

The fact that Australians have let there politicians pass the laws that back this proposal disgusts me. The issue is not the blacklisted sites, the issue is PRIVACY.

To run a scheme this big every single ip address will have to pass a government gateway on the way to whatever site you are visiting. To block a site you have to block the pc requesting the site.

All government departments keep archives of everything.
Every single thing you do on the internet will be logged and recorded in a data base. Every email, every facebook message, every time you log onto the bank, everything you watch on you tube, every download you make....it'll all be there for some government employee to run a 'check' on.

I think these choke points will also slow down online gaming. Not cool when a fraction of a second means you get fragged!

No laws or legislation for mandatory censorship has been passed yet, let alone tabled to parliament.

What a Load of crap! I know dentists are evil, and that queenslanders are a bit strange, but surely by both evil and strange isn't enough to get you blacklisted?

When will this bulls**t stop? Can't people take responsibity for their own actions? I can understand the government blacklisting any child porn sites, or any sites that advocate illegal behaviour, but i'll go back to my first example a Queensland dentist. What the hell? Why doesn't Ol' Kev want us to see this particular dentist? What the dentist do Kevvie?

Conroy's claiming the leaked list is not the ACMA list.

I'm calling BS on it given Conroy's lies in the past.
