They sat flush to begin with?
Yes - my original Thundercracker from the 80s had shorter wing pegs, which meant the wings actually touched the fuselage rather than having the odd gap the mould has had since then.

Maybe I was just lucky with my Thundercracker - I assumed it was universal. What do other people's original '84/'85 Starscreams, Thundercrackers and Skywarps have? Slightly shorter wing pegs that enable the wings to go all the way in, or the more common longer ones that leave a gap between the wings and the fuselage?

Ah ha! Well, it took a few months (mainly because I forgot about it until right now) but I've finally found evidence that some Seekers have wings that sit flush against the canopy. It's in the 'Main wings' section of Fred's Variants Page - short pegs allegedly came first and then quickly evolved into the long pegs the wings have today.

Mine are flush, after some quick work with a mini file. It's pretty easily to do

Well, save for Sunstorm, Ghost Starscream and my two sealed seekers (obviously).

My original childhood thundercraker had the short pegs. When I got a junker to replace his chest, it came with the long pegs. I have a set of each of the wings. I can post a pic if you want.

My first Thundercracker did too - you don't need to post a pic unless you want to, I just wanted to prove that I wasn't delusional and I'm satisfied that I've done that.

(Well, not delusional in this case, anyway.)

I don't think eject and rewind were that crummy. Remember, they were 80's toys!

If you thought they were bad...man you should avoid broadside lol
