Energon Hot Shot --> Lauretta
Animated Jetfire --> Atomic Zagnut Adams
Movie Ratchet --> Skeletor

Here I was hoping you would have some serious suggestions

To each their own so... collect what you want to collect. I myself am willing to buy repaints (particularly classics\henkei\masterpiece) if it pays homage to G1. I draw the line when there are inconsistencies e.g. thread bolt (who is micromaster) and Skyfire. On the flip side - I'd also purchase an item if i knew i could re-purpose/kitbash the figure for another character.

i think everyone here is doing what a sane TF fans/collectors would do (i.e. collect)! - you're far from crazy mate.


If you're still in doubt, go look at a girl's collection of handbags and shoes...
they'll have their share of the same item in different colours or something akin to the concept ...

In my Classic/Henkei display case:

Hasbro Classic Megatron - Megaplex (Henkei Megatron's clone/decoy)
Nemesis Prime - Motormaster, another evil clone of Optimus Prime
Universe Cyclonus x 2 - Henkei Cyclonus' "Armada"
Treadbolt - Jetstorm... Skyfire's twin, fire and ice~ (Got this idea from Animated, my Classic/Henkei Bots can use more air power. )

Also I might display both Classic Jetfire (with helmet) and Henkei Skyfire (without helmet) together... and pretend Jetfire and Skyfire are separate characters...

Currently I'm very tempted to get 2 more Acidstorms and just pretend all 3 Rainmakers are now green... A lone Acidstorm in my display case just doesn't look right...

And if we turn Sunstreaker's body around and attach a Sideswipe Head... instant Tigertrack!

As a kid when I forgot lots of the more obscure TFs I named Snaptrap and Afterburner something ridiculous. These days they're called whatever is on the box.

I call Universe Overload ( scattorshot repaint) as Flak - the micromaster got an upgrade, once I get the red Universe Powerglide - HAsbro powerglide will be Hothouse ( another micromaster). Also renamed the TRU exclusive Mudflap - for the moivie line into Renegade Erector..... yep another micromaster but he defected coz everyone in the Autobot army is dissing him for his "name".

Seems to me anyway that Hasbro has been "compensating" to the micromaster of G1 by upgrading them in Voyager sized bodies/versions no less. So why go against the conspiracy eheheheh. oh another example - threadbolt - he's a micromaster stealth jet - which is basically like his TFU profile - stealthy to even his fellow bots. But Im not getting him or Stormcloud.....well that is not yet until I get a craving or sumthingk... naaaah

Agreed Kyle, I'd have to add the rainmakers to my collection too except i'm planning to repaint mine. I was actually "reviewing the episode divide and conquer, i was wondering who the blue'ish rainmaker was??? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpy9kB2Nf4Y)


Random thought: In terms of size - i think Masterpiece Grimlock looks better with the classics.
