What makes that "HD"version any different? Is it just a gloss finish on the plastic?
You should invest in some sanding sticks like this for polishing.
Go from around 600 for rough sanding then finer grades (around 1200) for polishing.
Thanks mate, but I'll probably only sand them back smooth if I intend on painting them.
My usual process is trimming the nub back and then using a hobby knife to slowly 'skin' it till it's as smooth as possible.
Usually can be done pretty quickly and successfully, but for some reason with this kit due to the hard gloss coating on it, it was a major pain in the behind.
Second completed kit for this year, 1/100 MG Master Gundam:
And with his previously completed Mobile Fighter G Gundam counterpart - God Gundam:

3rd completed kit for 2012 (and it's only the 5th of the month!)
MG ReZEL - quite a simple and unsatisfying build considering it's a more recently released MG, but it actually looks decent despite the lanky proportions.
Anyways....

I wanted the ReZel for ages (regular MG, not the Commander), but the err......Gundam boner it sports kinda kills it for me.
