Youtube help for the good of Humanity
ok yesterdays meet was a raging super good time
but
apparently the video is too big, its 3 minutes but it my crappy comp keeps freezing etc
so can i email someone the vid, and they trim it in half then email me the pieces so i can put it up.
Its a video of Optimus prime upstaging a lion dance in China town yesterday

so reduce the file size?
I would recommend converting them from avi to mpeg format, it's smaller and easier to work with. It then becomes easier to merge the mpegs into a single video.
I use a program called RAD video tools for video conversion. For everything else I use Windows Movie Maker.

Yep, like Gok says, convert it. Divx, mpg, even wmv will do.

Not familiar with "Smack It" so I can't really advise on that. Whatever works for you. With YouTube videos you gotta make sure that you keep the file size small - I think 100MB is the size limit for the entire file. It might be simpler to use a program like Bink to reduce the file size and just upload it like that if you don't feel confident using something like Windows Movie Maker to combine different files into a single video and/or attaching an opening title/ending credits.
You should probably go for something simple like what you did with the Darling Harbour video which seems to be just that one file uploaded on its own.
