Default Anyone know a thing or two about customs/repainting?

Hey there. Just wondering if anyone could give me advice with a custom idea (do-ability wise). I snuck a look at Blazemaster on the TFW boards and thought for a heli-bot, he was pretty slick. Stylish gold paint, very movie-ish bot form and Channel 7 pressed onto his side for a smooth News 'copter disguise. But I gotta admit, when it comes to news, I mainly get mine from the news parody slant show on Austar/Foxtel's Comedy Channel, the Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart. If you (yeah, you, reading this!) havn't seen it, its a pretty clever take on the news, even though its usually just State's stuff, its still pretty smooth. "The Pope went on to say that if your trying to get to sleep, try crack." - Jon Stewart (after showing a clip of the Pope claiming safe sex causes AIDS.)

Anyways, enough of all that jazz. I was wondering honestly how Blazemaster would look trading in his gold for blues and Channel 7 logo for that of the DS's? Think it'd be do-able? Cheers.

anything is doable the best way to do it would be to pull him to bits and then paint him whatever colours you wanted. the tamiya spray cans are okay ive only used them on one of my customs otherwise i use car paints with a spray gun

Sweet. Any ideas about the logo? The closest I could think would be printing off a stick or something, 'ala Reprolables style.

I've also been having a few issues with the logos after painting and have been entertaining the idea of making custom stencils or using masking tape to make what i need...

failing that, i'd get printed labels...
Gamblor916 made some sick a** printed labels/stickers/decals in his customs thread...

There's lots of tutorials and how tos around. The customs section of TFW2005 is a good place for information. Any specific queries just post, I'm sure someone can answer.

Cheers - I've never kitbashed or repainted anything transformers wise - the most Ive got is the issue from the TFCC that shows how to turn a Cybertron Ransack into a lavender femme.

One good tip I always give is to grab a junker bot (go for a G1 figure, they're great as junkers) and practice on them first.
