Late G2 was what gave us _articulated_ robot modes in Transformers, including the introduction of ball-and-socket joints.

But they were in really terrible colors but the gimmick were sorta kool!

I only liked the G2 repaints of the G1's not the actual brand new mold g2's except for Green tank Megatron and HotLaser rod Optimus

And the G1 repaints weren't?? If anything I think the repainted G1s were worse than the colours on original G2s, mostly because they're bad repaints of previously known characters/moulds from G1. I find the colours on the G2 Firecons (Sparkabots) far more repulsive than the colours on Hooligan or Gobot Soundwave. And if nothing else, at least the new moulds were _new_ and gave us originality. They could be potentially redone in better colours, e.g.: R-Blade.

True, the Laser Prime was far better than the G2 Prime or Powermaster Prime.

I think G2 Sideswipe (repaint of G1 Sideswipe) looks good in black.

But overall tend to agree that most of the G1 repaints in G2 were not that great...just look at the Sparkabots and Firecons!

And for modern representations, I think Animated Slipstream looks like she was based on G2 Ramjet??

G2 Sideswipe basically has a "reversed" colour scheme from G1 Sideswipe, i.e.: what was red is black and what was black is red. Although the red is brighter than G1 Sideswipe, I agree that it is a really nice repaint and my favourite of all the repainted G1 moulds in G2.

He looked really cool in G2 fiction too, especially the way that they decked him out with all his "commando" accessories like bandoliers, spiked tyres etc. They should make a G2 Universe/Henkei Sideswipe as a limited exclusive.

IMO Laser Prime was the best Optimus Prime mould ever made until 2007's Leader Class movie Prime. And even then, judging Laser Prime in context of 1995 I'd say that toy is easily on par with movie and ROTF Leader Primes for the relative standards of 1995, 2007 and 2009.

Ah, I have the fondest childhood memories of those G2 molds with the giant clickity light guns. And I never had a better Christmas gift than Laser Prime. He's still with me today in fact and in perfect condition.

I was in high school when G2 came out. Thanks for making me feel old.

P.S.: I was reading through some old Shortpacked comics, and one talked about a character "feeling old" because he was in high school when Beast Wars was out. Damnit, I was in uni then!
