    Default 2009 Transformers Collection Poll Results

    Here's how many Transformers we own in 2009:

    33% of respondents have 100 Transformers or less. (+)
    31% of respondents have about 200 Transformers. (+)
    4% of respondents have about 300 Transformers. (=)
    5% of respondents have about 400 Transformers. (-)
    4% of respondents have about 500 Transformers. (+)
    0.5% of respondents have about 600 Transformers. (-)
    0% of respondents have about 700 Transformers. (-)
    2% of respondents have about 800 Transformers. (-)
    0.5% of respondents have about 900 Transformers. (-)
    20% of respondents have 1000 Transformers or more. (-)

    Comparison with 2008

    100 or less --> Up by 1%
    200 --> Up by 11%
    300 --> unchanged
    400 --> Down by 5%
    500 --> Up by 1%
    600 --> Down by 1.5%
    700 --> Down by 1%
    800 --> Down by 1%
    900 --> Down by 0.5%
    1000 or more --> Down by 6%

    As we can see the category with the greatest change is the "200" category which saw the biggest increase between 2008 to 2009 with a 11% hike. However the majority of respondents still fall into the "100 or less" category for the third year in a row. Thus we can see that the average Transformers collection size is actually 100 or less.

    2007 results

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    As you all know, for the first time this year we've also looked specifically at more precise data for people with collections numbering 100 or less and 1000 or more. Here are the results:

    Results for collections numbering 100 or less Transformers

    So among those who answered "100 or less" in the main poll:
    10% of respondents have less than 5 Transformers.
    0% respondents have about 10 Transformers.
    2% of respondents have about 20 Transformers.
    12% of respondents have about 30 Transformers.
    11% of respondents have about 40 Transformers.
    0% of respondents have about 50 Transformers.
    2% of respondents have about 60 Transformers.
    41% of respondents have about 70 Transformers.
    12% of respondents have about 80 Transformers.
    10% of respondents have about 90 Transformers.

    As you can see the majority of collectors in the 100 or less range have approximately 70 Transformers.

    Results for collections numbering 1000 or more Transformers

    Among those who answered "1000 or more" in the main poll:
    36% of respondents have about 1000 Transformers.
    36% of respondents have about 1500 Transformers.
    7% of respondents have about 2000 Transformers.
    7% of respondents have about 2500 Transformers.
    0% of respondents have 3000 or more Transformers.

    As you can see, among collectors who own 1000 or more Transformers, there is an even split between 1000 and 1500 Transformers.

    Mods: the 2009 poll threads can be unstickied now.

    Minors. You'll notice that the pie-chart program has rounded the 0.5s down to 0! (I guess it only accepts whole numbers)

    I intend on running the next poll in July 2010 so you got 11 months to prepare for then if you want to participate next year.

    So three or four people who voted in this poll have between zero and four Transformers. Intriguing.
