It's a shock factor thing, they are in a war after all
so once they shock and scare some of the Decepts from being too fugly, they've won at least 50% of the fight. They just have to tag team in bringing the suckers down while on the run.
But if it were a nicer looking fem-bot they could use the power of seduction, kind of like Poison Ivy in Batman.
