theoretically,
-> seller makes a fake ebay account with a legit bank account somehow
-> you pay seller with paypal
-> seller accumulates loot of cash from hundreds of people
-> seller withdraws all cash from bank and does a runner
-> you file a dispute after several weeks
-> paypal refunds you cash
-> paypal chases up money from seller who is now long gone and the linked bank account is empty.
-> paypal loses money.
-> paypal takes a hit or passes on losses to community in higher fees etc...

so either its a really great bargain for 100+ people or a scam to steal money from paypal the company...just my guess.
