It reminds me of a couple of years ago when bibyco had a Transformer for sale for zero dollars. I think everyone who was a member here at the time tried to order one only to have the order cancelled. I'm sure that was a mistake whereas the above seller is more in the business of scamming.

Maybe the seller just wanted paypal details. Who knows what they can do with it. Maybe all the people who bought from him/her will start receiving scam email pretending to be from Paypal asking you to change your password or login from a link in the email.... and then paypal account gets stolen.

    I'd beware guys.
+1, especially with 5FDP. Even if it was $14 or whatever that money could have gone to getting a couple of legends figures...

I logged into Paypal's site, then cancelled the transaction from there just by clicking on a button.

Only eCheque (bank transfer) payments can be cancelled if I'm not mistaken.

no, i cancelled it the same way.

i logged in and saw at the bottom a summary of recent transactions and there was a cancel button next to that ebay purchase. so i pressed cancel and it was done.

Likewise... I think it's because the payment had not been cleared or collected by the seller yet, hence the ability to cancel payment, whereas if the Paypal payment had gone through, you would have to put in a dispute claim to get your money back.

Same way as what? What payment method did you choose? As you can not cancel:

    Instant Bank Transfer
    PayPal Balance
    Credit Card

    UNLESS...

If a PayPal recipient is not configured to accept money in the currency you sent, the payment will stay pending until the recipient decides what to do with it. However, I was not aware that the sender could cancel it in that situation.

Sorry, I've read a bit more and can see that this is a special situation. My apologies.
