Had a little play sesh the other day with TR Blurr, Kup and Hot Rod who discovered a strange portal. Blurr used his speed to run through it and ended up in the Movieverse where he met up with TLK Optimus Prime. Introductions were made and Optimus Prime asked Blurr how Haywire is able to survive when Blurr accelerates and moves at such high speeds, because quite frankly the G-forces should by all rights squish Haywire's body into a bloody paste. Blurr explains that Haywire's suit (Blurr's head) is equipped with inertial dampeners and that the "antenna" sticking out from the top of Blurr's head is an 'inertial exhaust' - it funnels out all the deadly excess inertia that would ordinarily kill a human/Nebulan. Thus the amount of inertia that Haywire is exposed to is lowered to a manageable 9g's (about as much as jet fighter pilots endure).

Note that inertial dampening is all just works of science fiction - it's a convenient way of describing why people and stuff don't go flying all over the place. So yeah... inertial funnels!

Siege Shockwave has been building his own personal fleet of attack drones (the Voyager armour ) at his space station lab. Thing. Generations Jetfire and Springer decide to bust in and take them out with Jetfire fighting the drones and distracting Shockwave's attention, while Springer breaks into the space station and fights through Vehicons to get to Shockwave. During the fight Jetfire manages to lure Shockwave out into battle while Springer plants an explosive in the lab. Just before the bomb detonates, Springer hops into Shockwave's experimental star fighter (Combiner Wars Shockwave turned upside down) known as the Astro Magnum. He and Jetfire escape just as the bomb detonates, engulfing Shockwave in the explosion. Springer uses the Astro Magnum's space fold engine to get back to Cybertron so that Autobot scientists can begin analysing the tech while Jetfire uses his own hyperdrive to get back (albeit at a slower speed than the Astro Magnum).

A team of Vehicons arrives at the remains of the space station searching to see if Shockwave survived. They find him in gun mode but in stasis lock and take action to revive him. Shockwave awakens to discover that he can feel emotions again but hides this from the Vehicons. He tells the Vehicons that he must search for the stolen Astro Magnum and tells them to continue their investigation of the base attack. Shockwave arrives on Cybertron and surrenders himself to the Autobots, demanding an audience with Optimus Prime. He tells Prime (Classics OP) that he has regained his sense of emotions that was stripped away during Empurata. Optimus recognises his old friend (Senator Shockwave) but isn't sure if this is genuine or a ruse. He brings Shockwave to Perceptor's lab where RTS Perceptor uses a reverse-engineered and heavily modified Psycho Probe to determine Shockwave's true intent. Shockwave calls this device a "lie detector" but Perceptor insists that it's not and that calling it a lie detector would be a gross understatement. During the use of the device Perceptor comes to realise that it is a truth serum^lie detector. They determine that Shockwave is telling the truth.

Shockwave explains that simple defection would not work as he would create enemies on both sides who want to kill him. Instead he proposes that they help him construct a new body and he would upload a special program into his old body that would make it behave like himself but then they would stage his death. The old body's arm laser would also be rendered ineffectual (i.e. set it to a non-live ammo training setting) but the Autobots would use full strength ammunition. This is also top secret, so any Autobots who would respond to Shockwave's staged attack would have no knowledge and everything would appear real. Shockwave, Perceptor and Jetfire work on building Shockwave's new body (Jetfire notes the irony that he is helping to recreate the Decepticon who created him). The new body is able to transform between Autobot and Decepticon, as Shockwave would use his new identity coupled with his inside Decepticon knowledge (including access codes) to spy on the Decepticons. This new identity is called Punch/Counterpunch (POTP) and Shockwave's Spark is transplanted. New false files on Punch and Counterpunch are uploaded into the Autobot and Decepticon databases to make it appear that both characters have existed for centuries - in the case of Counterpunch he was fighting Autobot forces in the Outer Rim as a lone special operative but has recently been recalled.

The lifeless but preprogrammed old Shockwave body is set to attack random Autobots in public in Iacon but it is quickly destroyed by responding Autobot forces, including Punch (helping to sell the idea that Punch was on Cybertron while Counterpunch was in transit from the Outer Rim worlds when Shockwave was killed). And that's as far as I've played this campaign up to... toys are still on my toy room floor awaiting the next chapter!

P.S.: There are a few deliberate anomalies or 'Easter eggs'. See if you can find them all.
