Just couldn't help but wonder, why they all look like combiner limbs "if not G1 Like combiner Limbs".

And the robot mode next to the F14, looking similar to the "G1 Arm/Leg Aerialbots" in there robot modes, doesn't help.

I don't think, i should rule out the "possibility" that these could be Repainted/Modified for multiple Combiner/Gestalt Combination's ether.

This is of course if they are Combiners/Gestalts.

They're Scramble City prototypes.

The reason they look 'newer' is that these prototypes would have been experimenting with what they could do at those price points.

Basically -- you'll notice no really new TECHNOLOGY in the prototypes, they're about as detailed and they TF similarly, as Gobots of a similar size. Clearly, as the process of development went on things got much simpler.
