The Voltron Poll

I don't get it. Most of the things you don't like about the lion voltron series have to do with the English dub (reused combination dialogue, voice actors) but the poll is asking about the Japanese anime series?

My main beef is more to do with the themes. IMO 15 vehicles (with 3 teams specialising in different environments) roaming around space in a battlecruiser defending the galaxy was more exciting to watch over 5 lions defending a princess' kingdom! Maybe cos I've always been more of a scifi fan over an ancient fantasy fan. Unless you can combine them

ftr I have both series on disc in Japanese. But I haven't bothered to watch them all yet.

I chose lion Voltron because its the one which I have the more vivid memory of as it kept repeating in syndication when I was a kid. I also remember vehicle voltron but I was too young to remember anything meaningful when it came out and it didn't repeat on TV like the other.

I remember coming home as a kid and id watch it on ABC & then one day no more lions it still says Voltron but it's not the Voltron i recognize this is BS!!!!

I grew up with the Lion force Voltron so Im a bit impartial on that one. They did show the Vehicle Force after they finished a season of Lion force , I only saw a handful of episodes as it didnt appeal to me... I prefered Voltes V if it was vehicles into big killer robot, Lion force sorta appealed coz they got more interesting enemies and plus the MOnster robots created by Hagar were more interesting as they do look like technoorganicmonsters robots... vehicle force enemy robots well they're just robots..... Also there's a whole heap of casts in the vehicle force that I never ever remembered any of them at all.... Dubbing wise well Mr Cullen's OP voice doesnt really match the Commander's "look" in vehicle force IMO....voice sounds old like 50s dignified veteran well the drawing doesnt lookit..... Also Ive seen the 2 voltrons movie special where they combined forces to defeat whose enemy - LION FORCE so Im guessing the producers do recognise that the Lion force is the more popular/interesting series so they ended up with more focus on the lion force characters and story plot ( long story short - Keith ends up with Princess Allura and Hagar turns good - 2 Voltrons help invade and destroy Planet Doom).

Lion voltron just looks %110 better and is the one i grew up with,never even heard of vehicle force.
