The Voltron.com admin posted a message on the official Voltron forum last week saying that the movie hasn't been scrapped, so it appears the initial reports were wrong.

Have you ever seen the anime series "Martian Successor Nadesico" (aka Mobile Battleship Nadesico)? I highly recommend it as it delves into some of the 'facts vs myths' of how giant robots could actually work and also the way people pilot them. Really pokes fun at some of the ridiculous aspects of mecha anime (but done behind the backdrop of a serious scifi interstellar war drama )

Another good anime is Panda-Z which is big parody on robot and mecha anime. (^O^) ROCKET PUUUUUNNNNCH!

I very endearing spoof of 70s/80s giant robot anime (e.g. Voltron, Mazinger Z etc.) GEKIGAN CROSS CRAAASH!

well to me, 15 vehicles "with no back up Robot form/s" to make 1 Mighty Robot makes it more so, I'm sorry to say this Goktimus prime, i just couldn't get into it....
(even more so, after the episode "i think i saw", where one of the Vehicles/Operators was unable to complete the Vehicle Voltron Sequence.. it made no sense to me why, with that many Vehicles/Parts it was only made to form 1 Robot with all 15 only...)

This is why i like Lion Voltron....
as "5" Lions form Voltron, i could believably understand that they were unable to form Voltron due to Problems.

but, not 15 that is way to many "not to have" some sort of reserve robot form.

Note: to me anything else other than robot/s, as a back up would of made me loose the point of Voltron

as it is another show, i would probably think of it as another Universe/Point of View "or" something, that defines as different to the rest.

But losing a lion would also seriously impair Lion Force's ability to form Voltron too. This is an inherent weakness of gestalts anyway, as parodied by the Robot Chicken skit where they talk about what happens when one (or more) gestalt member "calls in sick". We see Lion Force Voltron being beaten by a Robeast as he hops around on one leg and the top half of Devastator just lying on the ground while Optimus Prime runs up and kicks him over the horizon!

With Vehicle Force Voltron it would theoretically depend on which vehicle was lost. I vaguely remember there was one episode where they had to form Vehicle Voltron with only one arm. But the same thing could happen to Lion Voltron if any of the limb lions were impaired or destroyed. The advantage of having 15 vehicles is that in their non-combined form they're more formidable as a fighting force.

as it is another show, i would probably think of it as another Universe/Point of View "or" something, that defines as different to the rest.

Of course Nadesico is a different universe, but the things that it parodies still apply. It's just like how Spaceballs is its own universe, but it parodies a lot of things about scifi movies like Star Wars, Star Trek etc. Nadesico is like a parody of super robot anime like Voltron -- only that there's an actual serious scifi story in it. It just happens to be a hilarious parody.

Things that it spoofs includes:
+ The amount of time wasted doing overdrawn dramatic combination sequences (and how IRL that would get people KILLED!!) "Let's form Voltron! Form feet and --" BOOM!
+ LAWS OF PHYSICS! A most cases they just ignore things like gravity when they merge. And move about.
+ How the "hero" pilot is often an amateur. This may not apply to Voltron so much. IIRC all the Voltron pilots are trained professionals right? But you have say Macross (Hikaru Ichijou was a civilian), Gundam (random kids), Evangelion (chosen kids) etc. In Nadesico the hero mecha pilot is the ship's cook! (wahahahaha)
+ Some of the Nadesico's crew and pilots are actually super robot anime geeks. So what is it like to pilot giant robots IRL when you've grown up watching super robot anime?

I could be wrong here but, For some reason i am thinking that you are suggesting that i am taking this robot thing to Seriously ???

If so, lets just say it doesn't take much for me loose interest in things

especially, things I personally disliked about Vehicle Voltron....
which was "even though, it was not real" mostly in Technical ways.

sure the idea, of the Gestalt like Combiners is fundamentally ridiculous. But, i personally fail to see why Mecha/Robot are (not in ways that are used for fighting/combat anyway) and as such, i find it to be more to be "Improbable"
as, i can potentially see civilian uses, in the form of "Construction" and "Rescue" at least... this is if we were able to build them of course.

And if they couldn't form a giant robot, the groups of five in the Air, Sea and Land teams could all individually combine into Strato Fighter, Aqua Fighter and Turbo Terrain Fighter. Surely it makes more sense for forming a giant robot to actually be 'complicated', since it becomes an in-universe explanation of why the characters don't just form the bloody giant robot in the first place and stomp the villain easily rather than only using it as an eye-rollingly stupid dramatic last resort (as in just about every episode of Lion Voltron).

Yes, I know but i considered the Voltron series to be based around Robot/s not anything else..

and with that reason , i need to see more than just a Strato Fighter, Aqua Fighter & Turbo Terrain Fighter (I was trying to remember what these where thanks Sky Shadow. ) and i needed to see a Strato Voltron, Aqua Voltron & Turbo Terrain Voltron "even" if they retained the combined Vehicle Modes.

If i wanted to watch a show about vehicles i would have watched Pole Position, Knight Rider and Mask "actually, thinking about it i did watch Knight Rider and Mask. "

This is why, i personally could not accept any excuses why this could happen with 15 Vehicles compared to 5 Lion's.

I mean surely, they could of least formed a Smaller Voltron with the amount they had left .. "even if they did do things that i suggested and things like this still happened, i would have accepted it more, as there could of been reasons in doing this (etc... calling a weapon that can only have been accessed from the main mode )

Note: if it was 5 Vehicles yes i can understand, in the same way as i wouldn't find any plausibility in 15 Lions.
