    Unhappy I've lost the passion

Hey guy's, with my new job and my large tax return, I have started making a nice basket full of money, but I haven't bought any tfs at all. The last tf i bought would have been over 4 months ago, and it was a Universe/classics 2 Dinobot, for whom the blade and box are missing because of my stupid .... of an ex girlfriend.

Anyway, I want to start collecting again, but I've lost the passion to do so. Wanna give me a hand to remember how to collect and enjoy it again?
When I think about Transformers now, I'm just bored. I've been playing more AC/DC and Iron Maiden dvds then I have G1/BW/BM or any of the movies, my mum thinks I'm sick lol.

Any help would be awesome Thanks, TB

I have been very bored too during this period. I don't find the movie toys that fun or exciting and although I have not lost the passion, I do feel a bit bored as everything is now about Movie toys or repaints of Movie toys.

Don't force yourself to collect. If transformers aren't exciting you, and you feel the need, then focus on something else. There are plenty of AC/DC and Iron Maiden collectables.

Just hibernate, ROTF will soon be over and we will see the return of universe/classics and animated and eventually a completely new line of exciting toys for us to explore. Just make sure you check in every once in a while

Save your money. There's no point wasting it if you don't feel the inspiration.

You don't have to be actively buying new toys all the time in order to be a passionate TF fan. I cut down heaps on buying TFs during 1993-95 and 2002 was also an annoyingly dry year. But it doesn't mean that I stopped being a TF fan during those years - I would still play with what toys I have, read comics, watch videos etc. Just because there may not be any new products out now that interest you doesn't mean you can't still continue to enjoy all the existing toys that you have now!

While the number of toys I purchase has fluctuated in the past 25 years, my passion has never waned. I personally find the idea of "losing interest" in Transformers is quite alien as it's never happened to me. <shrug> A few years ago I bumped into a girl who was a classmate of mine back in 1992 and she told me that she and all her friends still remember how I loved Transformers.

I too am totally bored with ROTF! I was telling the other SA members at our last Meet about how much I resent Michael Bay for making me lose interest in Transformers!

All the excitement of a new movie/toyline were completely sapped during that 2 and a half hour monstrosity, and for a while I started to lose interest in TFs in a big way! In fact I found myself really getting in to DCUC/MOTUC/Super Powers figures and I wasn't buying TFs at all.

But then I decided to pull my finger out and start expanding on my G1 collection, and let me tell you... I am SO much happier now! I've been buying big (mainly 87/88 figures) and I've re-discovered my passion for Transformers!

My advice: Forget ROTF and try collecting figures from another line (either another TF line or a completely unrelated line) which makes you happy and excited. You'll get the passion back after a while... at least, I did anyway!

Do you collect anything and everything across all TF'er lines or do you stick with G1/BW/BM toys/characters? Do you like core characters or the more obscure, less known ones? What goes through your head when you decide to buy a Transformer? If we could have a bit more background on what you collect and why that might help in forming suggestions to renew interest.

I don't know if you have him already but Henkei or Universe Cyclonus is a pretty insprirational figure which may help to re-spark your interest. ROTF scout class Ransack is another good one I can recommend highly.

It is a bit of a dry spell right now if you're not into RotF.
