Pretty pointless without an encore devastator....... Do they know something?

There were Devastators before Encore, you know.

Yea, but hardly a market to be bothered with making a custom for that encore would otherwise produce.

Lol I don't think the idea of customising parts like this one for the G1 series is the greatest of ideas. How can you make devastator that much more awesome by adding in one more unnecessary point of articulation?

They really gota look at what the masses have been shouting for (like nifty upgrades such as the ratchet/ironhide heads) and produce something of this calibre.. bc we all know how dodgy the original heads are.

Encore dev wouldn't really change the demand for these LED heads either methinks. Originals and KO's are virtually everywhere. Unless...the encore actually came with this head...

I agree. Having an articulated head atop an unarticulated toy seems superfluous to me.

I think a reissue would create some demand for this kit, but I think you hit the nail more on the head with this comment...

...and that's the thing. A lot of people (not me) didn't like the original Ratchet and Ironhide heads and have really pined for "real" heads for those toys. The original Ratchet and Ironhide toys have never had true humanoid robot modes because of what they were in Diaclone; but as Transformers they do look somewhat lacking in robot mode. This is compounded by the fact that Marvel/Sunbow gave them 'proper' heads in the cartoon and comics. So all this created a massive want for proper heads for these characters. I don't buy fan items, but I've heard that the fan made heads have sold well and in my observation Universe/Henkei Ironhide and Ratchet have sold really well too; Universe Ironhides moved quickly and I never even saw Ratchet!

But yeah... I don't know if there's a similar demand for Devastator. Other than the eyes, Devastator's original toy head is pretty much the same as how they drew him in the animation. And Devastator did sometimes have two eyes in the cartoon, so simply repainted the eyes red for a reissue would work for show accuracy (although I think the original yellow eyes look better). Alternatively they could leave the eyes yellow and include a red visor sticker (or clip on accessory, though that would increase production cost).

Gee I hope not. :/ Adding a head like this would increase the cost of the reissue set... they could try to keep costs down by including this head at the _expense_ of the original head, which I would dislike. I think the original head is fine, there's no need to replace it.

I like the original Ironhide and Ratchet heads! (^0^) I skipped the fan-item heads and I don't use the cardboard heads that came with the Encores. Toy-accuracy FTW!

But there are people who have expressed interest in this kit, like SOUNDBLASTER; and there are people jumping with excitement over this kit on international boards. So perhaps the demand is there despite what we may feel/think.

It's a pass for me (not that I collect fan items anyway), but ya know, I hope the kit sells well and that people like SOUNDBLASTER will be happy with their purchase. (^_^)

Of course. We all have different tastes and varying opinions
