I played the alpha demo before contributing to the kickstarter, I have serious doubts it'll be completely representative of the game, they've already moved to a different game engine to start with, but time will tell

Speaking of Kickstarters. Yooka Laylee is coming out in about 12 days so I should get a key soon. Feels like I've been waiting years for it to be finished.

Cautiously optimistic, I just hope the levels aren't too sparse.

Yeah my son loved watching me play it. However I've lost the disk so hadnt played it in ages. May pick it up for the PS4 if I come across it really cheap.

Everyone recommended the Lego games as we could play them together and you just respawn every time you die. However noone said just how much problem solving there was so essentially its me solving stuff then waiting for my son to let me use his character to do the next bit while he runs around trying to get the hang of using a controller for the first time.

Its been very frustrating. Think I should have just bought him a button masher for his first ever console game.

Never really thought about the puzzle solving aspect of the Lego games. Wasn't thinking of them with child's eyes.

As for button mashers, I can't think of any that would be good for kids

Now I have 3 bison and 3 glinthawks all gunning for me. and I died.

I've come across that a couple of times, but have found that I'm now quick enough to take out a small flock of glinthawks satisfactorily. Its really interesting to me how it manages to train you to take on more and more dangerous bots. I was cornered by 3 stealth cat things and my previous encounter with just one was a horrible experience, but by using dofferent efefct weapons and the ropecaster to keep the buggers in one place, I managed to take aall three out in quick succession. That was with all three attack me too.

We have bugger all internet in the bush, I have to buy physical copies of any games I want.

To be fair, Orion is doing pretty well for a 4 year old playing his very first console game.

That's why I would never live in the bush. (that and the fact I like having conveniently located shopping centres.)

Even tho it will be the crappy Liberal version of the NBN I'll be so happy when NBN Co hooks me up to the NBN.

I have the feeling our Liberal party member of Federal Parliament who won via a very slim margin at the election might have pulled some strings to get us moved back up the list of order of deployment. We were meant to have the NBN by end of this year, start of next year. Then we got bumped to late 2019, now we are back to where we started.

I have about 11mbps to 16mbps depending on what state the local phone lines are in and that feels ungodly slow when downloading a game like the 43.76gb install of Mass Effect Andromeda on PC.

Got my 3yr old son into Lego Star wars force awakens ($20 sale from Target), after some initial difficulties he finally got into it.

It started as me trying to solve stuff for him, then he started to identify the visual cues by himself "BB8 can do this!". At the end of it all, i was just pointing out to him stuff he missed onscreen and he did the rest. He actually finished till the end of the game

I think just keep at it and you'll be amazed on what your kid could do..

I'm thinking I should add a Sega console to my retro collection, either Saturn or Dreamcast. I'm not too familiar with the two platforms. What accessories should I get with them as far as memory cards, special controllers, video cables, etc?
