They're both good systems with plenty of good games, personally i'd go for Saturn cause i've found the hardware more reliable and the standard controller is better suited for the games. Dreamcast though, well lets just say it's theoretically possible to build a bigger "collection" without paying a whole lotand of course the graphics are ~PS2 era quality 3D, whereas Saturn 3D games aren't as pretty these days. 2D stuff on both looks spectacular though.
Saturn is great to collect for if you open up to Japanese imports, as there were a lot of releases that never came over, and games that did tend to be a lot cheaper. A PAL Saturn can play most imports without trouble using an Action Replay 4M Auto Plus. That will double as a memory card as well. The Saturn has a built in memory of sorts but it relies on a CR2032 battery that has a tendency to die when the Saturn's unplugged for a while, which will lose all your saves. A lot of games on Saturn though were arcade ports, and so save games aren't really that essential. It also doubles as an Extended RAM cart, which is needed for some later 2D games mostly. The 4M does have some issues with a few games that require the extra RAM, where you'll see things like glitchy graphics or odd crashes.
Depending on the type of games you like, a couple special controllers might be good. There's the Arcade Racer steering wheel which is great for Daytona, Sega Rally and other racing games. The 3D Control Pad is also good for racing games but not supported in some earlier ones. It originally came with Nights but supports a few other games too. The Virtua Stick if you're into fighters (the Japanese stick with green buttons is much better). And if you like Virtual On, you could track down the Twin Stick
For video cables, they came with standard AV cables, but you can get S-Video cables if your TV supports it for a clearer picture. The best picture comes from RGB Scart cables but you basically have to buy a Framemeister to take advantage of that.
Is it just me or is no one really gaming anymore?
I'm getting into Mass Effect Andromeda ATM....
I'm on my post Zelda palate cleansers. Played 2015's Need For Speed again, this time on PC. Still playing Forza Horizon 3 and Fallout Shelter. Also bought Super Mario Run now that it's out on Android, but I feel like I'm at the end of my time with it and I will go back to Angry Birds Transformers for my time killer game.
I'm still playing Horizon Zero Dawn. Took on a Rockbreaker the other day and it took me ages (and many deaths) to beat it so tonight when I came up on a corrupted one I just slowly and quietly backed away and took the long way aroundProbably go back and have a crack at it next time
Not sure if I love or hate the tear arrows. On one hand they are great for quickly disarming a machine but I'm not sure if they make it too easy. Of course when I took on a pack of Ravagers the other day I was very glad I had them to remove those annoying as hell cannons from their backs but still, especially with a Thunderjaw, they remove a lot of the challenge.

Hooked up the old Nintendo Wii and my wife and son are playing Mario Kart.
They are having a great time! Perfect for a 4 year old newbie gamer. Should have thought of this before I spent over $100 on PS4 games I thought he might like![]()

My free evenings over he last couple of months have been filled with Rise of the Tomb Raider, Skyrim, Fallout 4 (tempted to go back and play NV too,) Witcher 3, Bioshock & Darksiders remastered versions and picked up Soma cheap of GOG last night, but I'll wait until my ~3day photo archive compression finishes and play it in Windows (it supports OS X, but if it's like Thief, runs far better in Windows on the same hardware)
