3D wont run higher than 720P

does Tron even run in 1080P? (Should say on back of box, not many PS3 games do...)

So the missus went overboard and got me a PS3, so now I have to carefully balance my time between the Wii and PS3....

Got Dragonball Raging Blast 2 for the PS3, and I've got to say it's a very bad game, as a fighter and as a Dragonball simulator. Every character plays exactly the same...
However God of War III, Assassin's Creed II and Burnout have more than made up for it.

Still have to play Epic Mickey and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on the Wii... Where to find the time???

It does, but under the main PS3 display settings you have to manually select to have only 1080p rendered in-game.

Picked up 'Goldeneye' and 'Super Mario Galaxy 2' for the Wii yesterday. Haven't played Bond yet, waiting for a gaming night with mates for some nostalgic fun, but I've been powering through Mario. I didn't think they could improve on the first game, but they've done magnificently.

Also been getting a lot of Mario Kart in. The wife doesn't enjoy video games, except the singing/dancing/make a fool of yourself ones, but she loves Mario Kart. I've never seen such joy on a person's face as they play despite coming last eight out of eight races in a row.

Mario Galaxy 2 is also better because it has more replay value over the original Galaxy in the sense that you don't just replay the game all over again as Luigi instead of Mario once you've finished. I won't spoil it for you but the very last star is pretty rewarding to obtain.

Thanks Sleeve, there are another 2 Wii games I forgot that I still had to play/finish!
Goldeneye was a massive let down for me, in terms of the one player story mode. It took me forever to get into it, and alot of fiddling with the control setup tog et it feeling somewhat decent, and even then I only got to the third mission and needed a break. Haven't been back to solo player since. Multiplayer however is still alot of fun.

Played another hour of DBZ Raging Blast II. It is a turd. 90+ characters that all handle exactly the same. Not what I like in fighting games.

Yeah, I have no intention of playing single player. Multiplayer is the reaons I got it. We play 'Perfect Dark' on my mate's 360, but it's just not the same. Even this being updated irks me. I wanted classic Goldeneye.

I wasn't enjoying the game as i couldn't find the right control setup for Goldeneye, until i plugged in my Classic Controller. I really enjoyed the single player after finding the right controls. Multiplayer was ok, but i enjoy the single player more.

I have to force the game to run in 1080p with manual display settings just to get it at that resolution, but 3D cannot be selected at this resolution. Also if I have display settings set to auto on the PS3 it resizes the screen to 720p regardless of whether 3D is on or not.

I read on a Playstation board that because 3-d involves double the processing of the image (left and right eye perspective) I think they have to drop the resolution to not tax the system/cause graphical glitches/slowdown. I suspect we are unlikely to see a 1080 3-d game until PS4/5

Also although many PS3 games list themselves as being 1080p, their natural resolution is 720, and they can only be forced into 1080 manually. You can leave it like this, but then games that only list as 720p will drop to 520p. I had this issue with ROTF as it says it is 1080 on the box, but auto mode always clicks to 720. I tested SFIV which is 720 only, after forcing the ps3 to run at 1080 and it looked like a ps1 game with blockiness... and 520p-ness

I think I am not the only one who might be excited on this info.
Tomb Raider Trilogy FOR ps3. Legend, Anniversary and Underworld.

I liked Legend as it added new gameplay style and looked good. Anniversary because it was a remake of the first one using the Legend engine. Underworld was a bit crap IMO, but I would get this for Anniversary alone.

Looks promising. I haven't been an avid fan of Tomb Raider games since the first two came out in the 90s.
