Not a fan of the "streamlining" fallout 4 has (Skyrim 2.0, kill me) looks like they are going to turn it into a FPS with light rpg elements and voiced main char ala mass effect. I like making different character builds, removing skills and lessening the effect of stats on your char kills the hype for me. No criticals? A special "crictical" meter? bah.

    Battlefront? EA? Ha, no.

Every shooter style game from the conferences looked more like walking simulators to me.
I wish there'd be a resurgence in old school FPS game design that was more about levels with secrets and hidden areas than the spectacle of just being there.

Isn't that what the new Doom is trying to accomplish? As in bring back old school challenge with new graphics and concepts.

Honestly i haven't watched the trailer after reading the first few comments on Neogaf saying 'they still don't get it'. I will sometime though

On the topic of Doom, anyone who was a fan should check out a bunch of vids on Youtube with John Romero commenting on the level design ethos!

I dunno if i'm just getting old or what, but when i got Duke Nukem 3D for PS Vita a couple months back, it just reminded me so much of what i liked about FPS back in the day.

Honestly, I don't know what people are complaining about - To me this looks like Doom 1/2 only for 2016:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71jriioiliA

I loved the fast pace and challenge of the old Doom - I played both Doom 1 (all chapters) and Doom 2 to death. I loved the challenge of levels such as Doom 2 - Level 7 and so forth.

I wasn't a big fan of Doom 3 because instead of fast crazy action, it just became a survival horror game with a lot of darkness and a few scares that quickly got dull. The new Doom seems to have gone back to old school but with modern touches.

Wolf Among Us for the missus and Metal Gear V Ground Zeroes for me. Underwhelming sale so far, great for the finances!
