I was thinking that would be so cool cos then we'd get all this cool releases we would never have from someone who just works for Hasbro. Sadly only a dream

Being a TF fan wouldn't give you any special privileges in working for Hasbro. At the end of the day the product would still have to fit in specified criteria; e.g.: budget, appeal to children, safety etc. Sure, you could pitch ideas which might appeal to a lot of fans, but that doesn't mean that your ideas would necessarily get approved.

I think the Hasbro submission threads like this one work well in allowing fans to ask questions to Hasbro. You can also just call them on 1-300-138-697 or visit them at 570 Blaxland Rd Eastwood if you happen to be in Sydney (source).

    Not necessarily

if you were really popular, good looking and sassy i think you'd eventually promoted to the board of directors and able to assign resources accordingly.

Eg: No more GI Janes= more chrome on g1 reissues I...er we want

or you could just walk into their Epping branch shouting while dressed as a dero

lol sigh, these are my view on this subject

    a) the normal me: ok it would be great but there are a few other places id love working at, like insomniac games, lucas arts etc those places would be able to hold my "potential"

    b) the fanboy me: OMG OMG LOOK AT ALL THE CREATORS OF TOYS, now to add mirage and hound into most of the line of toys and create " legendary saga of kuzzy and rolelr with the transformers!!!!!!!!!!!!" (i hope i put in enough exclamation points lol)

    c) the evil genuis me: bwahahaha now i can manipulate the minds of kids to do my bidding, first ill make kids buy more transformers, then once its popular ill take over other franchises, star trek, ben 10, MY LITTLE PONY WILL ALL BE MINE!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA............

    ...........................HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA

so yeah those are just 3 views on that subject, those are some of the minds that come into tuition as well when i think of transformers fans wanting to get a job in the buisness

    Well that rules you out.

You mean Eastwood (2122). I love how there's a Tarrants Avenue just 1.7km down from Hasbro (cos Tarantulas' Japanese name is Tarrans ) <insert.Tarantulas'.evil.cackling.laughter>

Sounds like that journey should start in the executive bedroom

What? No, it wouldn't be cool - it would still suck every bit as hard as it does at the moment - we already have fans working at Hasbro. And, ironically, (in my opinion) Transformers toys were better before they had 'fans' working on them.

I think that although fans work for Hasbro they still have to compromise to corporate product demands. They may have some awesome new design but they still have to adapt it to ever decreasing production costs and odd ideas like 'Make this character unique mold into x character in a repaint' or 'This toy should look more realistic, make it grey instead of red but keep bright electronics visible so it stands out in the box'

Like many things I think there needs to be a careful balance between when dealing with fans. If Hasbro completely catered to fan sentiments, then I think the line would never have evolved past "Gee Wun." On one hand it's nice to see G1 homages, but on the other hand I can't help but wonder if it's holding Transformers back.

I would really love to see a Transformers series whose leaders are NOT called "Optimus" or "Megatron." The current movie franchise is keeping the Optimus Prime and Megatron trademarks in use, so there's no need to have other incarnations of them in the next TF series between now and TF3. We've seldomly seen anything terribly fresh and innovative done with Transformers since Beast Wars. After Beast Wars finished we had Transformers return to becoming licensed vehicles with Car Robot, which in turn led to all the "G1 reboots" starting with Armadaverse. That was nearly seven years ago... could we have something new now?
