I guess that if you want to keep the toy MISB there is nothing you can do about the batteries - You just have to hope they don't leak for at least as long as you own the toy and if they do, you will likely never know with the only hint being that the 'Try Me' feature would no longer work but that doesn't necesarily mean leackage.
