    Default WIP custom Classics Dreadwind

I thought I'd have more chance of making my own Dreadwind (or is it Darkwing?) than finding and being able to afford the Botcon one, so here goes...

This is the first step. Updates will come as I complete more and feel up to posting them.

Its Dreadwind. I would like to see how it turns out, as I have been tempted to do it because of the overpriced-out-of-my-budget Botcon version.

If you are aiming at 'replicating' the Botcon version then it shouldn't be too hard as its basically just a repaint and since most of the toy is already white the body consists mainly of painted highlights.

The hard bit would be remaking the head but since Dreadwind has a somewhat simplistic head, it may not be too hard to sculpt in Putty.

Yeah that's the plan... compared to some of the sculpy work I've done for my Total Justice customs it should be a piece of cake. Just slap some over his mouth.

My plan is to work from the ground up so it may be the last thing I do.

Anyone playing along at home watch out for:
    A) the springs in the feet
    B) the little (now grey) panels in the middle of his shins.

Here's what I got done over the weekend. Amazing how fast paint dries when it's 38C.

Work has temporarily stopped until I get some more paint cleaner for my brushes... Some areas need second coats, some need first coats and I need to straighten out his wing lines.

For those playing along at home I used Model Masters turquoise spray paint and a scalpel/paper cutter thing (I forget its proper name after years of calling it a shiv ) to scrape off the red markings on jetfire's back and cockpit piece.

That's looking awesome. Very similar to the Botcon toy. The head is the only thing left to do in order to 'cement' the character.

Very nice dude, now I gotta get my hands on another jetfire to do this lol.
Can't wait to see how the head goes.

90 per cent complete... looking for a colour to match the rest of the body to patch over where I scraped the red off, and trying to work out how to paint the upper wing surface
