    Default Acrylic Cases

Does anyone know of any local retailers in the Sydney area that specialises in acrylic cases - like the ones AFA uses, which would fit carded figures?

I found one online in Nowra - Display Case City. Has anyone bought from these guys and are they any good?

This has been asked before but no one appears to know.

    Cheers

Just in case anyone else is hunting for these like I am, Ebay seller cgacases sells cases specifically designed for Transformers. They are actually the parent company of AFA. Prices aren't all that bad.

They come in a variety of sizes - Cassette, Combiners, Cars, Jets etc. and are made of the same acrylic as their graded items.

I just bought some so I'll let you know my opinion of them when they arrive.

Hi, I got two autobot car cases and two jet cases - was the fastest ever delivery from the US.

I think they are pretty good but the box flaps need to be 99% straight to get them in properly so had to put the case on top of my ramjet box for a week before it would go in!

I received my acrylic case today so just posting my opinion of them as promised.

I was quite pleased with the quality. As Skull Cruncher mentioned, the cardback / box flap needs to be pretty much dead-straight to fit your MOSC or MISB, but aside from that, no dramas at all.

The ones for the 'combiner' toys seem a bit large as the sides of the card just slot into the place holders without falling out. I was under the assumption that most, if not all, G1 combiner toys were of the same size. Perhaps not.

For US$20 it's a nice little purchase to compliment your sealed figures.

yeah I thought the combiners were all about the same size.... I have a sealed dead end but not sure what to do with it - if I send it to AFA it would either get 75 or 70 so dont think is really worth it so might get a case - so just confirming the combiner cases have place holders on the side as well as the top?

I ended buying from CGA as well. Bought the in-stock as well as custom cases.

Surprisingly, their custom cases didn't cost a lot more than the in-stock ones of comparable size, and were made to the dimensions as requested. Their website's custom case webform is easy to use, and even calculates the case's price for you.

My only gripe is that postage, handling and insurance is very expensive. Having said that, CGA does package the cases very well.

Very true. Shipping was the same price as the case itself, however it was the best pack job I have ever seen.
