And just when I though no-one could out-fanwank the Animated Allspark Almanac, along comes LSOW #4 and Squadron X.

    It's not fanwank - it's fantenderlymakinglovewiththeloveofyourlife. (Or a full-on fanorgy - whatever one prefers.)

I've got nothing really meaningful to contribute but I'm really digging LSOW. Ongoing Mission is slowly getting better (largely due to the fact that there's gonna be some more action), but I'm also hoping Roche gets to contribute more to the IDW-verse.

Got 5 yesterday. Holy crap. It is oh so very good. It doesn't pull any punches-in fact, it more than lives up to the series' theme of people dying in stupid pointless ways.

Although I do wonder whether anything'll conflict with the ongoing, given how Prowl seems to be more of a jerk in the very end of this than in his Spotlight. If this does build up to something in ongoing, then hell yeah.

I think IDW is composed of different microcontinuities depending on who is writing.

I wish Roche and Roberts could write an IDW-specific series of profile books.

But knowing IDW, they'd just assign it to whichever random writer they currently have on their "main book", and we'd get things like Drift Is Awesome And Japanese and Prowl Loves Humans.

It's all in the same (poorly put together) continuity.

I know but the 'micro-continuity' factor is still present.

Look at McCarthy's Blurr when compared to the Bumblebee comic Blurr - Radically different interpretations of the character within the same comic series.

The same thing goes with Hotrod and others.
