    Default Henkei Rockdown

Having first made his appearance here this custom has gone through a fair few revisions.

The 'worst' thing really is the rubbery plastic won't hold paint - also, wanting to make him chromey, the spray chrome isn't really....henkeiriffic for lack of a better term - so I sat down at work and at home during some free time and used Hasegawa's Mirror Finish stuff and started chroming this sucker up...

So... I suppose this is a bit of a teaser...

I really like how the chrome's turned out so far though

How's that chrome stuff going? How are you handling the wrinkles?

That mirror finish stuff looks great. Might have to get me some of that.

    Lint & 5FDP : Thanks guys!

gamblor : ugh - the creases - annoying as - for some of them I've managed to do it by piecing together small pieces that overlap slightly - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - but unless you're looking really closely - it's not as noticeable cause you're mainly just blinded by the bling! For the most part though, I'm cutting little triangles and placing them on using ... the naginata from the kotobukiya weapon parts ... :b it's a nice item to work with! the sharp points help me mould the foil to the crevices of the plastic, and make the little holes on the pipes etc - I think this is best illustrated in the following pix:

this was how it looked before ape extra chrome...

And these are where the crazy began:

Yeah - I went all out with the chroming - made the gold bits gold, too! :b

Lemme know what you think peeps - I have to still do bits in Robot mode though

That said, I like how bling'd up he looks! Really loving this chrome stuff, but damn it takes a while
