    Thumbs down KO's - More G1 Stuff

FYI, I came across this article about more knock offs of the G1 vintage:

Defensor, Menasor, Sideswipe & Red Alert

These are fairly easy to tell apart from the legit ones.

The shits about to hit the fan though - later this year a KO Fort Max

And it'll probably sell for a fortune too.

Really? Where did you hear that one?

I can see some of these being popular, like Red Alert (I just opened up a Hasbro Commerative Reissue last night, and was so disappointed to find that the missile launcher has its springs removed) but Sideswipe for example is still really easy to find from Takara. People might buy them for display, but if the quality is anything like previous ones you wouldn't want to open and use them.

And the more I see combiner KO's like Devestator, Defensor, etc, the more I wonder why Hasbro just doesn't hire these guys to rebuild molds for them, and why these KO manufacters don't go legit and license off of Takara.

I know its going to sound silly, but why can't they all just play nice?
On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!

I notice with Red Alert and Sideswipe they also now have the batch numbers on the boxes. That was one way of telling Genuine from KO at a quick glance.

Esp the ones on the cards.

and KO fort max?? *sigh* Its jsut not fair when you want to do the right thing and not buy these things.. but then they go and do something like that. I woudl only buy these things if i wanted to do G1 customs and didnt want to wreck the already few and far between genuine things. (course reissues are also good for that.)

It was mentioned within a post on TFW which was written by GenZhao - a board member associated with a well known online KO store.

Menasor giftsets are expensive...though it might not be the case when these KO's start flying out. I'm surprised Fort Max is on the way too

Quick glance at the defensor KO set; looks like First Aid and Streetwise be missing some stickers

I'm becoming more and more dissapointed with collecting now . With KO's of figures I don't yet own coming out, it makes it even harder for me to collect without the fear of getting a KO. I need to complete my Fort Max soon then, I just need some guns, and I don't want to end up with KO parts.
