I was surprised to find that SBS TWO is screening two episodes of The Mysterious Cities of Gold each Saturday and Sunday afternoon, from 1pm - 2pm. I remember loving the show when it was in the 80s - although watching a little bit last weekend I couldn't quite see why.

I bought my wife the DVD box set because she loved that show as a kid

On a similar but unrelated note I was surprised that SBS2 ran an Evil Dead marathon the night of the State of Origin. SBS has certainly changed since the last time I tuned in.

The Checkout on ABC is enjoyable, entertaining & informative. It's one of the few shows I watch on TV.

Dark Matter starts soon! Woooooo! For any of those who loved Stargate and don't know what this is. It's made by one of (my favorite) Stargates writers/producers Joseph Mallozzi.

    IMDB
    WIKI
    Trailer
    Sneak Peak

The six-person crew of a derelict spaceship awakens from stasis in the farthest reaches of space. Their memories wiped clean, they have no recollection of who they are or how they got on board. The only clue to their identities is a cargo bay full of weaponry and a destination: a remote mining colony that is about to become a war zone. With no idea whose side they are on, they face a deadly decision. Will these amnesiacs turn their backs on history, or will their pasts catch up with them?
And the comic for those who might be interested.

(As you can tell I'm pretty excited for this, been waiting a fair while)

They played the episodes out of order when they first aired them, even though it was an ongoing storyline. They wanted a big action episode to hook people so after the pilot they played ep 4, then went back to ep 2. It came across so disjointed people switched off in droves
