Ngee Khiong recently posted some scans - of note is this one that seems to show Skywarp with altered colour scheme - more G1 accurate.
It doesn't look like a bad scan (the rest of the colours are fine), but it may be a photoshop job.. (there's hints of the original purple in the car photos). I did like the purple of the first batch of photos, but black probably looks better - all i know is i just want it now!

A printing error maybe? The purple hi-light looks strange.

Now that I have seen some more upclose pictures, I am certinally glad that I will eventually order one of each and display one in each mode .. Who I am not sure though.

It's modeled on a Japanese sports car called a Mitsuoka Orochi (more info here and here)
It seems the car started off life as a concept car based on a Honda NSX with design cues taken from many manufacturers, so yes, possibly including Mercedes.
