I actually like the blue and think it looks great... but will only pick it up if it's in the bargain bin (sub-$5) seeing as I already have the Hasbro one and don't need (or want) a repaint of the same character.

I think the Takara version is a step backwards, based on your photos, Kyle. Still, it's nice to get a good look such as this.

In some ways yes. First there's too much blue. The Takara version does not have worse paint QC than Hasbro version. However, in the parts where the Hasbro version was moulded in Hasbro grey plastic, the Takara version has blue plastic. So you'd notice that in truck mode, you see these ugly blue borders showing from underneath the red paint on the Takara version, when in fact the Hasbro version has the same ugly borders... but they're Hasbro grey so you don't notice them as much. This is one of the rare occasions where Hasbro grey is superior...

I think the blue (with battle damage silver storkes) is pretty, but there's a bit too much of it... like he's wearing blue jeans all over his body.

I actually prefer collecting toys without battle damage... I prefer all my toys to have a uniform minty fresh look and haven't bought much battle damaged toys in the past. I mainly bought this repaint for its "Premium" kind of look. Having the real toy in hand, I think the way the battle damage silver strokes being brushed on the blue is very very nice. But for my own collecting purposes, I would be happy too without the silver strokes.

Also, I'm not sure if having too much paint apps will make this toy look a little out of place when displaying it with the other movie Legends toys. Yes I'm picky...
