Kind of has a transtech-ish feel to it.

What I dont get is this show. All the Toys seen in New York had nothing to do with this show. Show = Toys. So whats with all the Combiner stuff and just how does the new Game fit in.

Will wait and see I guess.

    I don't mind it.

Seems to be the movie cast in BW/BM style animation. If done right (and the toys being screen accurate) this might not be bad at all!

I thought so too. I reckon they'll use some of the animation style and blend it with the movie.

The upshot of this image is that it shows that Hasbro might be doing some damage control. This series may mandate that the 3rd film will have to reflect some of the TV show's content.

e.g. Prime and BB getting subtle visual changes for the 3rd film

It's probably so we can all be surprised for a change in this interwebbed world.

Yeah a mergiverse cartoon was inevitable given the movie is the face of TF's today for many kids. I prefer the look of this character to the cartoony look of animated, although I freely admit the look is only a fraction of the package.

Now can they take ideas from the breadth of the Transformers universe and make a decent story?

That's the main factor for me, the quality of the stories and characters. As mentioned, the movie influence is no surprise whatsoever - Let's hope there is less influence on the characters and story.

Damage Control? The movie made more money than God. People went to see it and possibly saw it again and probably told their friends to go see it. And then bought some toys. And then bought the DVD.

Of course Transfans who thought it sucked probably did the same thing too.

I don't think anybody at the studio or Hasbro (i.e: those who just got an incredible return on their investment) will be giving advice to Michael Bay on how to make them money.

As for the sneak peak? It's a pic of something yellow and indistinct - but movie-ish. I'll hold judgement until I see something more meaningful.

After the first couple of weeks of release, did it continue to profit like Avatar did or was there a steep downfall in Box office returns?

This reminds me of a truism that I was told when I worked in retail: "Any idiot can sell something once". The real trick is to keep them coming back with a good product.

People went to see the 2nd movie on the strength of the first. I'll wager more than a few came out feeling seriously dudded. Of course, by then it was too late, as by the time you realised it was awful, they already had your money.

Many will be far warier about seeing the 3rd instalment. About the only way that TF2 was any kind of triumph was financially. It's very wearing to see people continue to raise this as evidence that the film was good. It's kind of like claiming that McDonald's is the best food in the world since so many people eat it.

    Off-topic, I know. Sorry.
