paypal sucks when it comes to paying anything else outside of ebay.

i bought a new laptop charger from http://www.battery-company.com.au/ and paid using paypal.

they sent me the wrong one, so i requested an RMA#.

no reply at all so i made a dispute through paypal. paypal said they could do nothing and closed my dispute.

the one thing that pisses me off the most though is how their echange rate is always lower than what its supposed to be, something like $0.02 difference. So basically they are making money off me exchanging currency to $US/JAP

and once i've paid for an order, they take a cut from them too.

    useless paypal. you suck.

Yeah whats with paypal, taking a cut after ebay takes their sales fees out!!

Also arn't ebay Australia fees higher than any other ebay locality in the world?

And one more thing - ebay never seem to do anything when items (KO's) are reported....

    Ok Im done

Are these suggestions or complaints I think Jgon would like some constructive criticism on Paypal both for and against so they might actually listen to him when he is talking to these people. No matter what you say it is now far easier to buy overseas items since the inception of Paypal compared to the old Western Union money orders or money transfers.

The issue with "confirmed" addresses in Australia isn't PayPal's - it comes down to our privacy laws. The account/card issuer (your bank) can't give any details to the merchant (PayPal) - to protect the privacy of the account/card holder.

In the USA (and I guess other jurisdictions) PayPal can ask the issuer to _confirm_ the address supplied as matching that on the issuer's records, but if they do so here, the bank can't confirm without breaching privacy laws.

    It's silly, I know, but it's not PayPal's fault.
