I myself know what it's like being caught in a downpour at a concert. It was at the infamous GnR, Skid Row & Rose Tattoo concert at Calder Park where it was 39 or 40 degrees and we were holding up our cups to catch the rain.
The rain was worth it. During the wait for, I think Behemoth, today only rained a lil.
I missed that gunners gig
One of my favourite folk metal bands Týr just released their new album Hel. My boxset arrived yesterday so now giving the cd a spin. It's already being hailed as contender for album of the year, and I have to agree.
I've heard 3 or 4 tracks from Tyr. The music of these Faroe Islanders would be perfect for the Vikings TV series.
I've been a fan for quite some time now. Well worth checking them out.
Just finished watching Lords Of Chaos and of course it's not as good as the book (which I've read twice) but the film could've ended by at least pointing out the legacy of black metal (e.g. the global success of Dimmu Borgir) and Varg being driven out of Norway.
I'm still yet to watch it. Soon I will.
Speaking of which, I saw Emperor last night. What a show.
Just finished reading the Wreckers Saga and these are the albums I used as backing music:
1.Ire - Parkway Drive
2.Band of Brothers - Hellyeah
3.Crimson Tide score - Hans Zimmer
4.Terminator Salvation - Danny Elfman
5.Vulgar Display of Power - Pantera
6.Far Beyond Driven - " " "
7.Meantime - Helmet
and certain Metallica and Iron Maiden songs.
