Apparently they are. Emvironmentally friendlier..
The dino mode is probably more recognisable to the average lost fan (older folks that lost their way from the TF Path). Pus kiddies are more likely to wanty a large robot T-rex. I would.
I dont see that, just the lighty gimmick. Also "Electronic Lights and Sound", what sound is that?
Nice to see he has stats on the pack. Only let down for me is the movie Optimus on the side. Maybe another G1 esque, version of a toy would be nice, despite the fact its the wrong timing.

Hmm I much prefer the MP box over that strange creation. Also a little bummed he ships in Dino mode. The main reason I want another one is to display him in both modes. Now regardless I will have to transform either one to robot mode.
Why oh why do joints have to weaken with every subsequent transformation? I've only ever seen my Takara Grimmy in robot mode once, and that was over a year ago now.
The side art is pretty cool though.
Interesting choice to display him in alternate mode. Personally, I would have prefered bot mode. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that Grimmy mostly appeared in Season 3 of G1 in Dino mode (because isn't that what this figure is based on). One of the reasons why I disliked season 3.

We are looking to move away from them and moving towards smaller packaging which is more biodegradable. In the future you’ll see smaller packages with Tam, which is easier to cut and biodegradable.

Yeah, they've been doing it for some time now. As Tetsuwan Convoy said, supposedly for environmental reasons. They look harder to untie, but I haven't tried -- I just use tin snips which slice through the strings easier than through twist ties. So it's been a good change so far.
fark... are these guys going to be TRU-exclusive only??
does that mean they will be ridiculously priced and shelfwarming for ages??
btw, i love hasbro's move from plastic/metal twist ties to the paper version.
They are much easier to undo by hand.
Didn't MP Starscream only last about 1 week as a TRU exclusive? I know it shelfwarmed at Toy Kingdom/ Toy World... but that was much later. MP04 shelf warmed at Target and was eventually clearanced very cheaply. I also remember hearing that MP Ultra Magnus moved very slowly from the shelves of Target.
I guess there isn't much of a market for these toys in Australia. I'll be glad if TRU stock it at all.
MP Starscream was decently priced though.
